How to compare medicine prices in Venezuela
To compare medicine prices in Venezuela, always compare the same product: the same name or brand, the same strength, the same dosage form and the same quantity per pack, in the same currency. Then confirm the final price and availability with the pharmacy before buying. In the Qida app you can check prices at pharmacies near your saved address.
Compare the same presentation
Two prices can only be compared if they refer to exactly the same product. Before looking at the figure, check on the pack or in the pharmacy’s information:
- Name or brand: the same one shown on your prescription or on the pack you already use.
- Strength: it must match the one stated on the pack.
- Dosage form: tablets, capsules, syrup or injectables are not interchangeable when comparing.
- Quantity per pack: a box of 30 units and a box of 10 have different prices for obvious reasons.
If you find another brand or strength, it is not an equivalent comparison. This page does not suggest replacing your treatment: any change requires your doctor’s instruction; if you have questions about the presentation, ask your pharmacist.
Same currency, same date, same conditions
- Use one currency for both prices, US$ or Bs. Do not mix a dollar figure with a bolívar figure.
- Note when you saw each price: prices change and an old reference may not be comparable.
- Consider transport, delivery or other charges if you order delivery or go to a distant branch.
- Confirm the final price and availability with the pharmacy before leaving or paying.
The price search is inside the app
This website does not have a price search. You check prices in the Qida app for iPhone and Android: you search for your medicine and see results from pharmacies near the address you saved, according to the information available. Vita, Qida’s assistant, can also help with searches and price alerts.
A step-by-step comparison example
- Reference price: what you paid last time for one pack of your medicine.
- Found price: what you see today for the same name, strength, form and quantity per pack.
- Multiply each price by the number of packs you buy each month.
- Subtract: if the found total is lower, your monthly spending goes down; if it is higher, it goes up. Both results are possible.
Calculate your difference with your prices
The calculator starts empty: enter your own prices. It runs in your browser and does not send or store anything.
Quick checklist before buying
- I have my prescription or the pack I use at hand.
- The product matches in name, strength, form and quantity.
- Both prices are in the same currency and recent.
- I added transport or delivery if it applies.
- I confirmed the final price and availability with the pharmacy.
- If I have questions about the medicine, I ask the pharmacist or my doctor.
Frequently asked questions
Does Qida sell medicines?
No. Qida is an app to organize your treatment and check prices; it is not a pharmacy. You buy directly from the pharmacy.
Are the prices I see guaranteed?
No. They are shown according to the information available when you check. Price and availability can change, so confirm them with the pharmacy.
Does Qida suggest another brand or strength?
No. A comparison only makes sense for the same product. Any change of medicine, brand or dose requires your doctor’s instruction; if you have questions about the presentation, ask your pharmacist.
Does the calculator store what I type?
No. It runs in your browser with the prices you enter. Nothing is sent or stored.
